“Liberia: A New Day” - USW video
Check out this video from the United Steelworkers (USW) about the struggle of workers on the Firestone rubber plantation in Liberia. The struggle for good working and living conditions for these workers continues today. Please keep checking this website in the next few weeks for new ways to take action!

Thanks so much for the efforts to put the plight of the Liberian tappers of Firestone in Liberia in the forefront for all to see. As a former tapper myself, I experienced everything mentioned and seen in the video presented.
It’s a tough journey you are undertaking. Getting things done right in Liberia is difficult. You must not relent; you must not waver.
Thank you.

Thanks for publicizing these atrocities. I happen to have the privilege of being married to a Liberian-American woman, which has afforded me opportunties to establish friendships with Liberians familiar with operations at the plantation. I’ve heard numerous accounts of flagrant human rights violations from Liberian eyewitnesses, which lends the propagandistic content of the Firestone/Bridgestone website entirely incredulous; it is my hope that, in due time, Firestone Execs will be forced to face international criminal court proceedings for their crimes as we speak to the conscience of the American consumers of their products. This summer I intend make effort to establish a Liberian-American coalition in my community that would seek to address these ills through boycotts and mass publicity efforts. Thanks for your work; please inform of any ideas you have for social/political action that would further this cause.
